Swing Into Spring

Performances: May 16 - 18, 2008

The Evergreen Chorale would like to announce they are holding auditions for all mountain area high school jazz combos to accompany the Chorale during their Spring Concert, “Swing Into Spring,” on May 16-18, 2008.   The combo will play one song of their choosing and accompany the Chorale on several, but not all, of the concert repertoire.  One number will be a Duke Ellington Medley.  Jazz combo should consist of piano, bass, drums, alto sax, and trumpet.

All interested applicants should submit an audition tape with both an upbeat number and a ballad.  All tapes are due by Wednesday, February 27, 2008.  We will select three semi-finalists to play a live audition on Saturday, March 8, 2008 from 10:00-11:30AM at Center/Stage.  Semi-finalists should play the jazz piece they have chosen to play in the concert.  The jazz combo finalist will be announced on March 10, and “Swing Into Spring” music will be mailed on that day as well.
