Focus on Man of La Mancha Cast and Crew:

Fred Bloemendaal (Muleteer) – Fred joined the Chorale in 1998, and since then has performed in Unsinkable Molly Brown, My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof, and How to Succeed in Business (Without Really Trying). He is a mechanical engineer covering 4 mountain states. He has been married to his lovely wife Linda (Flute instructor extraordinaire) for 38 years and they are looking forward to their first grandson this March courtesy of so n Todd and daughter-in-law Gena. He is also looking forward to an August marriage of his son Scott and future daughter-in-law Darci Barrett.
Alan Groves (Donkey/Muleteer) – Alan is appearing in his fifth Chorale stage performance. In addition to being one of the mainstays of the Tenor section in the Chorale, you may have seen him in Fiddler on the Roof or How to Succeed in Business (Without Really Trying).
Jenn Langhus, Stage Manager – This is Jenn’s first tim e to stage manage a show and she says that it has been a wonderful learning experience for her! Jenn has been a regular here at Center/Stage for the past two years, playing Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, Laurie in Oklahoma!, Little Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods, Sally in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and Rosabella in The Most Happy Fella. Jenn also worked as the Production Manager for the Chorale in 2006-07, and is married to another regular on the boards at Center/Stage: John Langhus. Jenn and John are the parents of future actor/singer/dancer Gunnar. Jenn has also directed the Summer Music Theater Camp for the Chorale for the past two years, and is busy planning this year’s camp! Gail Montgomery, Assistant Director – Gail says that she is incredibly grateful to be working with her father Jack who is directing Man of La Mancha. When Gail was a freshman in high school she was unable to sing with the choir during her first year there, so her father suggested that she try his theater class. (Jack was the drama teacher at her high school.) Who knew that this would lead to a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre and a career in New York as a professional actress? Gail is married to another talented actor, Bruce Montgomery, and they are the parents of two wonderful children, Jack (8-years-old) and Paige (5-years-old). Gail has appeared in many productions for the Evergreen Chorale and the Evergreen Players, including Lilli and Katherine in Kiss Me Kate, Chava in Fiddler on the Roof, the Witch in Into the Woods, Lucy Van Pelt in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, the housewife in The Great Pillsbury Bakeoff, and a waitress in The Most Happy Fella. Gail was the Chorale’s Production Director in 2005-06 and the Executive Director in 2006-07. (Left – Gail Montgomery as the beautiful Witch in the second act of Into the Woods)

Doug Phelps (Pedro) – Doug has been a member of the Chorale since 1980, and has appeared inmany shows over the years as well as in otherfunctions from directing to lighting. He counts this show among his favorites for the music, the story, and the message to dream big. Doug said that it’s not often that there is a role of a “dirtbag” in a musical that is this deliciously fun!
Dick Vickery (Muleteer) – Richard (Dick) A. Vickery, Jr., is a 17-year resident of Evergreen and is in his 5th season with the Chorale. He has appeared as a chorus member in the productions of Fiddler on the Roof, Oklahoma!, Big Night, How to Succeed in Business (Without Really Trying), and The Most Happy Fella. Having retired as pastor of the United Methodist Church of Evergreen, Dick is currently the Pastor of Congregational Care at the Mountain View United Methodist Church in Boulder. Dick is active in the Evergreen community as a member of the Salvation Army Service Extension Unit, the Bergens Leadership Council and as a foster home for the Evergreen Animal Protective League. |
