Center/Stage Legacy Campaign

Community is what Center/Stage is all about.

Center/Stage is and has been Evergreen’s gathering place to experience theater, music, art, religious services, celebrations and participate in community meetings for much of the history in Evergreen.

When Father Douglas, over a century ago, began his vision of people gathering in the foothills to enjoy fellowship away from the hustle of the city he probably would be pleased that his vision remains intact. The Evergreen Chorale has been performing at Center/Stage for 37 years, and has taken its humble beginnings as a one-room auditorium to a premier performing space that is comfortable for both performers and patrons.

The Evergreen Chorale has owned and operated the building since 1990. Since then the Chorale has looked to the community to help create the facility we enjoy today. Through grants and donations Center/Stage has received over a million dollars to make the improvements that have created the multi-use facility you see today. This year, the land under the building was put on sale and the Chorale purchased it to assure the continued viability of the facility. Now, we need to raise the money necessary to pay for it!

We have begun a Capital Campaign to fund the land purchase. Due to a very generous donation by longtime Chorale members Margie and Bob Howe and the Howe Family Fund as well as other generous contributors, we are almost half way to our target of $175,000. Now, the Evergreen Chorale is asking for YOUR help to allow us to complete this purchase.

We are looking forward to many more years of providing this community space for audiences to experience the talents of the Chorale along with our primary user groups: The Evergreen Players, The Evergreen Children’s Chorale, Dandy Lion Theater and Center for the Arts Evergreen.

Our community members who have contributed to date are highlighted on this page – thank you so much to these terrific supporters of Center/Stage. We hope you will join them.
