Janice O'Grady

President
Janice joined the Evergreen Chorale in 2007, shortly after retiring from her practice as a trial attorney in the San Francisco Bay Area and moving to Conifer. Janice sang and acted in high school and college, as well as in local theaters in the Minneapolis area where she lived until her work took her to California in 1991. She was delighted to jump back into music and theater with the Evergreen Chorale and has been actively involved in both concerts and musical theater productions with the Chorale. She was elected to the board of directors in 2011 and is currently chair of the membership committee.

Tom Boschen

Vice President
Tom is a semi-retired pediatrician who has loved singing all his life. Tom has enjoyed singing in church choirs and choral groups through high school, college and medical school. He sang with the Rochester Oratorio while in pediatric training, and the Denver Mile Hi Barbershop chorus after beginning work with Kaiser Permanente. When he and his wife Ginny moved to Evergreen in 1994, he was delighted to continue his singing with the Evergreen Chorale. Highlights of his time with The Chorale have been the Ode to Joy by Beethoven and Mozart’s Vesperae Solemne. As Rumi has written,” Let the beauty you love be what you do”. Tom is honored and proud to serve again on the Evergreen Chorale board of directors.

Lindy Casados

Secretary
If there ever was a true definition of “home away from home,” Lindy’s would be Center/Stage. Her parents, Dick and Marcia Phelps, were founding members of The Evergreen Chorale in 1972, so she does not even remember a time in her life when this theater, and the people in it, were not a huge part of her existence. Lindy first appeared on Center/ Stage in 1978 as a chorus-kid in Oklahoma. Since then, she has been in several other shows including Carousel, Anything Goes, A Little Night Music, and Guys and Dolls. Lindy has also been Assistant Director for the Chorale for the past 2 years; an honor that she considers is truly second to none.

Debby Caine

Treasurer (non-voting)
Debby has been a member of the Chorale since 2007. She has participated in two chorale shows as a chorus member. Debby has been involved in music since grammar school, both as an instrumentalist (oboe) and singer. She met husband Larry at a music camp in the northern California redwood country. Debby has a BA degree from the University of California, Berkeley in Industrial Psychology, and additional college course work in New Jersey in accountancy. She is a practicing CPA with an office in Golden. She and Larry have two grown children: a son in the Air Force, and a daughter, son-in law, and two grandsons in the Denver area.

Larry Caine

Larry Caine has participated in organized choral music since 1964. In the mid 90’s, he performed with Pro Nobis, a small group of mostly music professionals in the New York/Tri-State area. After moving to Colorado in 1997, Larry joined The Evergreen Chorale, at times enjoying solo roles. He also sang with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra Chorus but now chooses to focus on the mountain area music program through The Evergreen Chorale. Larry received his BA degree in Business Administration from San Francisco State University. He also holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) professional designation. Larry was VP and National Sales Manager of the Group Sales division for Commercial Life Insurance Company, a division of Unum Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, where he worked for 21 years. He is now the President of Lookout Mountain Benefits, Inc., a group insurance brokerage firm based in Golden, Colorado.

Robert Dickert

Robert brings to the board a background with a particular focus on technology, telecommunications, and new media. He has worked in technology consulting, product development, business development, and sales engineering in both startup and Fortune 500 environments. He has experience with program management,computer programming, and web application development. Robert holds a BA from Stanford University and an MS from the University of Colorado. The first musical theater performance Robert saw as a child was the Evergreen Chorale's 1976 performance of The Pirates of Penzance. Since then, he has made music a big part of his life. He is in his eighth season with the Chorale and is pleased to perform with his wife, Anne, and both his parents.

Julie Engel

Julie and her daughter Derya Senol have been members of the Evergreen Chorale for two years. Julie attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, and has been working in the construction industry for 17 years. She is the co-owner of Timberwolf Builders and Colorado Black Diamond Salsa.

D.J. Himstedt

D.J. has been involved in music since childhood, beginning piano lessons at age eight and participating in choral music at school and in church throughout his educational years. D.J. graduated the University of Houstoncum laude with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a specialty in Finance. D.J. moved to Colorado and obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Denver and practiced law for several years before forming his own private investigation company, which he has owned and operated for over twenty years. Although he always enjoyed music as a hobby, he became actively involved again with the Chorale and enjoys both singing and assisting in accompanying where needed. D.J. is proud to work at Center/Stage with his two daughters, Mariah and Katherine and love the enthusiastic support of his wife Julie

Linda Lovin

Linda is very honored to be on the Board of Directors of the Evergreen Chorale. For twenty years, the Lovin family has enjoyed productions and concerts at Center Stage. In September 2009, Linda began singing with the Chorale and is impressed with the dedication of its members and leadership. After having served as a church pianist and director of music and having sung with various groups at her university, it is Linda’s pleasure to again work with a family of talented musicians and performers.

Lou Montgomery

Lou joined the Evergreen Chorale in 2009 and he fulfilled a dream he had from his days at San Diego State University where he sang in the concert choir. Lou became a general contractor running his own company of 17 employees for nine years in Riverside, CA and his projects included building a surgery wing for a medical building, custom landscaping, and additions. He decided to move to colorful Colorado to continue his work in the construction industry, were he earned his Master Electrician license. Presently, Lou is the Facilities Manager at Front Range Community College, overseeing a 435,000 square foot building on 86 acres with his crew of 13 people, and managing several million-dollar improvement projects. Lou loves being part of the Chorale and offering his expertise in construction/management to CenterStage and its facilities

Laurie Romberg

Laurie, a Colorado native, has been a member of the Evergreen Chorale since moving to Evergreen from Steamboat Springs in 1997. This is her second term on this board of directors. She enjoys singing and performing with the Chorale and having her family be a part of Community Theater. She has performed with each of her three daughters in a number of Chorale productions since they were in preschool. Now two are studying Theater in college. She has also loved getting to know the business side of theater. Since becoming a member, she has been involved in marketing the Chorale. Laurie became a Graphic Designer due in part to the work she has done with the Chorale and started her own business, Romberg Designs Plus, in 2008. She is very appreciative of the opportunities the Evergreen Chorale has provided her and this community as a participant and as a patron.

Tom Scripps

Tom Scripps joined the Chorale in 1984. He served on the Chorale Board 1985-1988, first as Treasurer and then as President, during which year he met his future wife Barb as she joined the Chorale. Over the years as Tom’s consulting practice has allowed, he has sung in numerous concerts and performed in over a dozen musicals at Center Stage. As a bachelor, Tom considered the Chorale to be his Evergreen family for its support and camaraderie, and now having raised a family in Evergreen with Barb he still considers the Chorale extended family.

Brian Sides

Brian is a Denver native and is proud to “serve and protect” the citizens of his hometown. He brings his spirit of service to the Board of Directors in this, his first term. Brian began singing at the encouragement of his high school teacher and Chorale’s long-time director, Mike Weiker. Brian’s first experience with the Chorale was a role in their 1984 production of Sound of Music. After a 23-year hiatus, he returned in 2007. More than 14 concert and stage productions later, Brian is grateful for the opportunity to serve as a member of the Board of Directors. His passion for music and theater has spilled over to his two children, now in their late teens, both of whom have added their talents to the vocal and theater departments of Bear Creek High School, Brian’s alma mater. Brian is excited about the future of the Chorale and hopes for many more opportunities to share the stage with the vivacious Lady Rebecca.
