A Tribute to Mike Weiker and 30 Years of Songs From Broadway Musicals

This concert features the best of the best of the Evergreen Chorale’s past and present membership under the direction of Mike Weiker. The Chorale will be singing songs from Broadway musicals it has performed over the past 30 years. Man Of LaMancha, Brigadoon, South Pacific and Fiddler On the Roof to name a few of the wonderful shows from which solos, duets, small ensembles and larger choral works will be performed to celebrate the musical artistry under the baton of Mike Weiker.

Together with award-winning Irish Band, Colcannon, the Evergreen Chorale is presenting a kaleidoscope of winter and holiday music with touch from the British Isles. New and old Christmas favorites in arrangements by British, Scottish and Irish composers are interspersed with lively Irish tunes and step dancing.

Hans Christian Andersen's charming fairy tale of the Princess on the Pea is presented with a twist in the hilariously funny musical. Will Princess Winnifred become the 13th princess to be kept from marrying Prince Dauntless the Drab by the evil queen? Is Lady Larken pregnant and will the king stay mute forever? Most importantly though, is Winnifred a real princess? Only a pea will prove her true identity. Enjoy a hilarious story, great dancing and a sparkling musical score in "Once Upon a Mattress" at Center/Stage. This production is recommended for adults and children 10 and over.

One of the top 5 choral masterpieces in the world, Beethoven's 9th Symphony is a must-hear. The famous Ode To Joy tune is hummed by children and adults alike around the world and, here, in its original version, will be presented by soloists, 150 voices and the 85 members of Jefferson Symphony Orchestra. Under the baton of Maestro William Morse this will be one of the most notable concert events of the year.
